Platform Engineer (DevOps) - Common Platform

About the role

ITV is hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer for its Common Platform, based in White City, London, with hybrid working (2 days a week). The engineer sits in the Content Supply and Delivery (CS&D) team, which adds and distributes content from ITV Studios, and also joins the wider Common Platform team that shares best practice, capabilities and tooling across the business. The Common Platform uses open source, cloud native and SaaS tooling packaged in automated template architectures and Infrastructure as Code patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and use the Common Platform
• Prioritise work for upgrades and business delivery within CS&D and support engineers with deployment and production issues
• Review and approve pull requests for new infrastructure, permission changes and access
• Maintain and support CS&D infrastructure, including the Common Platform (e.g. Jenkins)
• Manage upgrades of Kubernetes deployments in AWS
• Design the infrastructure for future applications or redesigns of existing ones
• Share best practice and contribute ideas and designs to the Common Platform team

Required profile

• Proven experience of secure cloud practices and building high-performance, scalable cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS)
• Proven experience of Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform) and version control strategies
• Proven experience of containerisation and deploying workloads on Kubernetes
• Proven experience of continuous delivery and integration patterns (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Proven experience of monitoring and alerting tools and of responding to production incidents
• Cloud cost optimisation while keeping infrastructure resilient
• In-depth knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Amazon Linux 2)
• Agile delivery experience
• Able to travel to London twice a week
