Plumber – Maintenance Team (Self‑Employed)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Plumber to join the maintenance team at a college in Oxford on a self‑employed basis. The role starts as soon as possible and is intended to be long‑term, providing rapid response to plant and infrastructure issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide rapid response service for breakdowns and problems as they occur.
• Participate in water monitoring, including legionella inspections and checks.
• Carry out mechanical and plumbing fault finding, rectification, record updates and statutory documentation.
• Perform testing and inspections according to the preventative maintenance schedule, record outcomes and recommend lifecycle replacements.
• Conduct routine plant, infrastructure and fabric checks and monitor the college’s computerized BMS, adjusting system settings as required.
• Assist team members with ad‑hoc general maintenance duties.

Required profile

• Previous experience in mechanical and plumbing work.
• City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Plumbing.
• Valid UK driving licence.
