Postperson with Driving – Hailsham Delivery Office

About the role

Royal Mail is looking for a part‑time Postperson with Driving to join the Hailsham Delivery Office. You will be the face of the service, delivering letters and parcels across the local community on a rotating shift pattern that includes weekdays and occasional weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort incoming letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot, covering routes that may total up to 12 miles per day.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including peak periods.
• Travel to the Eastbourne Delivery Office to work on Sundays as required.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Ability to pass a Royal Mail driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs or hills and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Manual driving licence (UK).
