About the role
The Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking qualified pharmacists to join its Primary Care Pharmacy team. Working across GP practices in Aberdeen, you will help deliver safe, effective and cost‑efficient pharmacotherapy services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide medicines management and pharmacotherapy support across multiple GP practices.
- Conduct medicines reconciliation, medicines care and review activities.
- Answer pharmaceutical queries, manage drug shortages and promote quality prescribing.
- Support the pharmacy hub that offers remote coverage for practices (e.g., covering annual leave).
- Collaborate with senior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to innovate the pharmacotherapy service.
Required profile
- Degree in Pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Broad clinical knowledge and strong communication skills.
- Good IT proficiency and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Own a car and driver’s licence for travel across Aberdeen.
- Willingness to become an Independent Prescriber (or already qualified).
Required skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy IT systems and general IT tools.
- Ability to perform medicines reconciliation and medication reviews.
- Knowledge of managing pharmaceutical shortages.
