Primary Resource Base Teacher (ASD/SLCN)

About the role
Reeson Education is partnering with a vibrant mainstream primary school to lead a dedicated Resource Base for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social Communication needs. You will manage a small, nurturing class (EYFS‑KS2) while supporting pupils’ inclusion in mainstream lessons.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a highly personalised curriculum adapted for ASD and communication difficulties.
- Collaborate with mainstream teachers to arrange successful step‑out opportunities.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of EHCP targets.
- Work closely with the SENCO, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists to embed specialist strategies.
- Maintain a low‑arousal classroom using visual schedules, sensory breaks, and positive behaviour support.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in a UK primary setting.
- Strong knowledge of autism and speech, language & communication needs.
- Experience in a resource base or SEN unit is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt teaching between sensory‑based learning and formal academic instruction.
- Excellent communication skills for leading teaching assistants and liaising with parents and external professionals.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
