Primary School Intervention Teaching Assistant

About the role

Academics is recruiting two Primary School Intervention Teaching Assistants for a supportive primary school in Walton-on-Thames. The role starts in September or October 2026 and runs until July 2027, offering a full‑time, on‑site position within KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to the inclusion team and class teachers both in and out of the classroom.
• Lead interventions for a caseload of pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
• Deliver targeted sessions covering Speech & Language, Maths, Reading, Writing, pre‑teaching key skills, vocabulary and social/motor development.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Experience working with children with SEN and delivering both group and individual interventions.
• Ability to support attainment improvement across a range of subjects.
