Primary School SEN Teaching Assistant (Full‑time, Sep 2026‑Jul 2027)

About the role

Reed Education is recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding primary academy in Slough for a long‑term, full‑time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. The role runs from September 2026 to July 2027 and involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and learning challenges.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SEND professionals and parents to deliver tailored interventions.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and feedback from trial days.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEND in primary, secondary or specialist settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; focus is on supportive and instructional abilities.
