Primary SEN Teacher – West London (KS1/2)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary SEN Teacher to join a thriving special‑needs school in West London. The school supports children with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple disabilities, and autism, and is expanding its primary department.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess KS1/2 curriculum for pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary therapy hub to integrate sensory, physical and communication interventions.
- Utilise outdoor multi‑sensory spaces to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to Individual Education Plans and participate in team meetings.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development using specialised strategies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in special education, or a newly qualified teacher eager to develop in this field.
- Passion for making a difference to pupils with complex needs.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
- Familiarity with Makaton sign‑language.
- Understanding of TEACCH structured teaching approach.
- Experience of Team Teach strategies.
