Primary Supply Teacher – September 2026

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking qualified Primary Supply Teachers to cover day‑to‑day bookings in schools across Colchester and surrounding areas, starting September 2026. You will work in a range of settings, from small village schools to larger three‑form entry institutions, teaching pupils from Reception to Year 6.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the national curriculum across all primary year groups.
• Maintain effective classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment.
• Implement safeguarding policies and keep records up to date.
• Adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Collaborate with school staff and provide accurate attendance and progress reports.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, EYTS or equivalent.
• Current DBS check with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Two professional child‑related references.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last year).

Required skills

• Strong classroom behaviour management.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons for Reception to Year 6.
• Knowledge of UK safeguarding procedures.
