Primary Teacher – Year 2 (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with respected primary schools in Brent to place an experienced Year 2 teacher for the September 2026 start. The role can be taken on a full‑time or part‑time basis. Year 2 is pivotal for consolidating KS1 learning and preparing pupils for statutory teacher assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across reading, writing and mathematics for Year 2.
• Use assessment data to track progress, adapt planning and provide targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and the SENCO to support pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Maintain a well‑structured classroom with clear behaviour expectations.
• Share planning and resources across the year‑group to ensure consistency.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven KS1 teaching experience, preferably in Year 1 or Year 2.
• Strong knowledge of KS1 statutory assessments and moderation processes.
• Expertise in systematic synthetic phonics and early reading.
• Experience differentiating for mixed‑ability, SEND and EAL learners.
• Positive, consistent approach to behaviour management and safeguarding.
