Primary Teaching Assistant – Part‑time (Afternoons)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support KS2 classrooms in South Lancaster on an afternoon schedule. This part‑time position runs Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 15:30, offering a balanced work‑life rhythm for candidates who enjoy school‑hour engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing and setting up daily lesson activities.
• Support individual pupils and small groups under teacher direction.
• Manage classroom resources, ensuring they are available and well‑maintained.
• Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment.
• Participate in school meetings and required training sessions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a patient, supportive approach to learning.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check if not already held.
