Principal Business Analyst (Sales Project) – 12‑month FTC

About the role

The Principal Business Analyst will join a fast‑growing technology team within an industrial and manufacturing organisation. Based in a brand‑new Birmingham office, you will work four days a week on‑site to deliver sales‑focused technology projects that drive commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document requirements for sales‑enablement initiatives.
• Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, user stories and process maps.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams to ensure delivery on time, within scope and budget.
• Act as the primary liaison between business units and technology teams, aligning solutions with commercial objectives.
• Conduct impact assessments, feasibility studies and develop business cases for proposed solutions.
• Identify and propose process improvements and innovative technology approaches.
• Mentor junior analysts and support the development of a best‑practice BA practice.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in business analysis, preferably with exposure to sales, sales enablement or commercial projects.
• Proven track record delivering IT and technology solutions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of sales functions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and comfortable working in a collaborative, cross‑functional setting.
