Principal Consultant – Digital Transformation & Change

About the role

Reed Professional Services is seeking a Principal Consultant to drive digital transformation and change initiatives for public‑sector organisations. You will combine consultative sales expertise with deep industry knowledge to win new projects and nurture long‑term client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new consultancy opportunities across public‑sector clients.
• Leverage Reed’s network, frameworks and personal outreach to build relationships.
• Lead discovery conversations to understand client challenges and shape tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to design, scope and price consultancy services.
• Prepare proposals, Statements of Work and manage the sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing.
• Grow existing accounts by uncovering additional transformation needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in consultative sales or business development, preferably within the public sector.
• Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and strong relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of winning new business.

Required skills

• Experience with bids, tenders and SoW‑based delivery.
• Familiarity with digital, IT or transformation programmes.
