About the role

Our client, a leading global engineering, design and environmental consultancy, is seeking a Principal Ecologist to join their Bristol office. The role involves leading high‑profile infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK, delivering sustainable ecological solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver ecological projects from inception to completion.
• Manage programmes, budgets and client relationships.
• Support multidisciplinary teams and contribute to business development.
• Oversee ecological surveys, impact assessments and mitigation design.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
• Membership of CIEEM (or working towards chartership).
• Extensive experience with UK ecology, surveys and legislation.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Based in or near Bristol.
• Strong project management and communication abilities.
