Principal Market Analyst – 9‑Month Contract (IR35)

About the role

This 9‑month contract position supports Thales UK Limited’s Integrated Airspace Protection business. Working from Crawley, you will provide market and competitor insight that directly influences business‑winning activities and offer development.

Key responsibilities

• Track daily contract notices and distribute relevant information to the sales team.
• Build and maintain market forecast models to estimate size, geography, and timelines.
• Analyse competitor capabilities, product portfolios, pricing data and identify potential partners.
• Maintain the UK Strategy & Marketing Plaza business‑intelligence system, uploading news, reports and ensuring no classified material is included.
• Generate usage reports, coordinate user training and support the system administrator.
• Provide analytical input for strategic business planning and MoD key‑account managers, covering market trends, sizing and competitive intensity.
• Monitor competitor marketing messages and share insights with communications and strategy leads.

Required profile

• Proven ability to design research approaches and gather primary intelligence.
• Experience applying advanced mathematical modelling techniques to create long‑term market projections.
• Strong aptitude for identifying trends, patterns and underlying drivers within complex data sets.
• Comfort working with limited data and building assumptions that support confident decision‑making.
