Principal Solicitor – Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Solicitor to join our London team, focusing on insurance and reinsurance litigation. The role involves handling complex coverage disputes, defence claims and strategic advisory work for major London Market insurers, global insurers and reinsurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high‑value, technically challenging coverage disputes across a range of policy types.
• Advise and represent insurers and reinsurers on defence matters and reinsurance disputes.
• Coordinate international caseloads, liaising with foreign counsel and handling cross‑jurisdictional claims.
• Provide strategic advice on complex commercial insurance policies and their interpretation.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in insurance and reinsurance litigation.
• Proven track record advising insurers and reinsurers on complex coverage and defence matters.
• Strong understanding of the London Market ecosystem, including relationships between insurers, reinsurers, brokers and lawyers.
• Experience with international claims and working with foreign local counsel.
