Prison Contractor Escort

About the role

This temporary position involves working as an escort for contractors, tools and vehicles within HMP The Mount. You will be employed by a third‑party maintenance company and will support the safe and efficient delivery of project work over the next 12‑18 months.

Key responsibilities

• Book in and escort all contractors, tools and vehicles throughout the establishment.
• Check tools and plant, ensuring the tool list is current and accurate.
• Supervise contractors at all times and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain regular communication via the radio network and keep accurate records of personnel under your charge.
• Act as the first on‑scene responder for incidents and work with the team to resolve issues.
• Respect prisoners' rights and dignity while performing duties.

Required profile

• Honest, reliable and trustworthy with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent team player able to follow instructions and maintain order.
• Willingness to undergo Prison Clearance (up to 8 weeks).
• Ability to work full‑time hours (minimum 37 per week) and adapt to shift changes if required.

• Weekly pay at a standard hourly rate of £12.71 plus holiday pay.
• Full‑time schedule, Monday to Friday, 8 am‑4 pm (flexible if needed).
