Private Client Solicitor – Wills & Estate Planning

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our well‑regarded Wills and Estate Planning team in Basingstoke. You will manage a varied caseload, providing specialist advice on probate, wills, trusts and powers of attorney while working in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take client instructions and manage the full probate process from grant to distribution, including tax advice.
• Draft wills and related testamentary documents, ensuring proper registration, storage and retrieval.
• Advise on and establish trusts tailored to client needs, and provide ongoing administration support.
• Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney and handle Court of Protection applications and deputyship matters.
• Support the Head of Department and Partners, contribute to case management system development, and cross‑refer clients to other services.
• Build a professional network across the South of England and London to grow your caseload.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in private client work.
• Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate planning; trust experience is a plus.
• Confident communicator with excellent relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, organised and commercially aware.
