Private Client Tax Director – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Director to lead our Private Client Services practice in Reading. This senior leadership position combines client delivery, business development and team management within a major global advisory firm.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the strategic direction of the Private Client Services practice and drive its growth.
• Lead delivery of complex, high‑value tax advisory projects for entrepreneurs, family offices and ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, often involving cross‑border and multi‑jurisdictional matters.
• Develop and maintain senior client relationships, identify new business opportunities and cross‑sell wider advisory services.
• Coach, mentor and develop high‑performing tax teams, fostering a culture of technical and commercial excellence.
• Manage practice performance, including billing, margins and risk management.

Required profile

• CTA or ACA qualification (or equivalent) with extensive private client tax experience.
• Proven track record at Director level or equivalent in a practice or family office, including winning new work and building networks.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior partners and contribute to long‑term business direction.
