Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join a leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm. You will manage a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trusts and estates, delivering both advisory and compliance tax services while building long‑term client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private client tax engagements, providing advisory and compliance support.
• Deliver advice on Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Trust Taxation, Residence & Domicile, Property Tax and Personal Tax planning.
• Review self‑assessment returns prepared by junior team members and identify planning opportunities.
• Support partners and directors on complex projects such as succession planning, wealth preservation and estate planning.
• Oversee client deadlines, workflow and billing for your portfolio.
• Mentor and develop junior tax staff.
• Collaborate with wider Tax and Advisory teams to provide integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing private client tax matters for high‑net‑worth individuals and families.
• Ability to build trusted adviser relationships and communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines and client expectations.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team development.
