Private Law Solicitor – Family Department

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Private Law Solicitor to join their busy Family Department in Bolton. You will manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, providing high-quality client care while working both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of private family law matters from instruction through to conclusion.
• Handle divorce, financial remedy, private children matters and domestic abuse cases.
• Undertake a mix of Legal Aid and privately funded family work.
• Use the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) and apply Legal Aid eligibility criteria appropriately.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of client care and legal practice.
• Work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.

Required profile

• Experience in private family law.
• Experience managing a mixed caseload of Legal Aid and privately funded matters.
• Good working knowledge of CCMS and Legal Aid processes.
• Confidence undertaking your own advocacy.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
