Procurement Leader – Hybrid (Barrow-in-Furness)

About the role

This position supports the Dreadnought programme as a key member of the Platform Complex Systems (PCS) team. You will lead supply‑chain and procurement activities, champion a value‑driven culture and ensure the function stays future‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement and contract activities for major sub‑contracts, covering all commercial and cost matters.
• Collaborate with suppliers, engineering and project delivery teams to influence supplier direction, develop procurement strategies and negotiate terms.
• Administer contract performance and provide expert advice on sourcing feasibility, risk mitigation, cost efficiency and manufacturability.
• Communicate supply‑chain activities to cross‑functional and external stakeholders, highlighting performance, threats and failures.
• Maintain and develop strategic supplier relationships, promoting collaborative behaviours.

Required profile

• Supply‑chain, procurement or commercial experience on major sub‑contracts with a strong understanding of engineering and project management.
• Proven ability to maintain strategic supplier relationships and engage partners early in the solution lifecycle.
• Detailed knowledge of supplier risk and opportunity coordination.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, including price and contractual terms.
• Capability to compile data, interpret results and present recommendations through reports and presentations.
