Product Manager, Alternative Payment Methods

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a Product Manager to lead the Alternative Payment Methods (APM) portfolio, focusing on bank‑based payment rails. The role drives the company OKR of expanding and enhancing payment methods for merchants worldwide, ensuring a seamless experience across the Checkout.com ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Set the strategy for the APM portfolio, balancing new additions with enhancements based on qualitative and quantitative research.
• Become an expert in each payment method, working closely with payment partners to understand trends and support the commercial team.
• Design API and integration experiences with engineering and product counterparts to deliver a consistent developer experience.
• Build strong partnerships with business, product, and technology stakeholders to generate momentum and secure buy‑in.
• Collaborate with other product and engineering leaders to align roadmaps and delivery.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of product management experience.
• Experience with payment methods, especially direct debit and account‑to‑account payments.
• Data‑driven mindset, using data and business insights to shape strategy and roadmap.
• Customer‑first attitude, balancing immediate needs with future opportunities.
• End‑to‑end product mindset with strong leadership and high EQ.
• Effective communicator able to inspire and simplify complex concepts.
