Product Manager – Audio

About the role

The Economist Group is looking for a Product Manager to own the listening experience and audio operations across its digital platforms. This craft‑focused role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about what great audio feels like and wants to make the product excellent. You will work within the Audio and Video product team, collaborating with editorial, engineering and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Own the listening experience across app, web and third‑party platforms, ensuring player quality and playback reliability.
• Lead delivery and scaling of article narration and text‑to‑speech pipelines in partnership with editorial and production teams.
• Manage podcast hosting and distribution via Acast and maintain presence on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
• Define, track and report on audio engagement metrics, listening depth and habit formation.
• Collaborate closely with editorial, engineering and analytics to create reliable, engaging audio experiences that reflect The Economist’s reputation.

• Enjoys deep ownership of a product area rather than managing upwards or setting broad strategy.
• Comfortable working cross‑functionally with editorial, engineering and analytics teams.
