Product Manager, Investments

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to shape, govern and develop our authorised fund range and Managed Portfolio Service (MPS). The role sits within AJ Bell’s investment business in Manchester and works closely with Investment Management, Compliance, Risk, Distribution and Operations to ensure our products deliver value and meet the highest governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the approval process for new funds, share classes and MPS launches.
• Design and review investment products, defining objectives, policies and risk profiles.
• Own the Fair Value Assessment process in line with Consumer Duty.
• Monitor customer outcomes, maintain management information and key performance indicators.
• Support product distribution by producing and maintaining product documentation.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Investment Management, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations and Distribution.
• Prepare reports and present updates to governance committees.
• Track competitor activity and market developments to identify opportunities for the AJ Bell Investments proposition.
• Contribute to strategic projects that enhance the investment product offering.

Required profile

• Level 4 investment qualification (e.g., Investment Management Certificate, CISI Diploma) or equivalent.
• More than five years’ experience in investment product management or product development within financial services.
• Strong understanding of the FCA regulatory environment and practical experience applying Consumer Duty, including Fair Value Assessments and outcomes monitoring.
• Knowledge of Managed Portfolio Services and the UK investment market.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaborative working skills.
