Professional Support Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to lead and develop a high‑performing PSL team within a top‑60 law firm. The role combines strategic knowledge management with hands‑on legal support, acting as a trusted advisor to partners and fee earners across multiple practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Risk Management Partner to define a growth roadmap and align the PSL team with firm objectives.
• Lead, mentor and expand a team of existing and newly recruited PSLs, ensuring high‑quality support services.
• Develop and maintain precedents, practice notes and working practices reflecting market standards.
• Research points of law and provide timely updates to partners and fee earners.
• Produce articles, briefings, newsletters and training materials for internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with the Knowledge Management Team to enhance knowledge tools and ensure firm‑wide accessibility.
• Manage communications from the PSL team across services and offices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Proven leadership experience in a multi‑site, cross‑functional environment.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work with all staff levels.
• Legal qualification (degree or equivalent).
