Project Accountant – Glasgow (Hybrid)

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting for a Project Accountant to join a well‑established engineering services business in Glasgow. The role is hybrid and offers the chance to own financial reporting for high‑value, long‑term projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare project budgets and regular re‑forecasts, presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Assess project progress against plan and identify or mitigate slippage.
• Manage project revenue and profit‑margin reporting in line with IFRS 15.
• Perform cost variance and sensitivity analysis, flagging risks and opportunities.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and coding, reconciling to the General Ledger.
• Handle multi‑currency reporting, FX exposure, and inter‑company recharges.
• Support lessons‑learned reviews to improve future project delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified to ICAS, ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong project accounting experience, preferably in engineering or manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex financial data for non‑finance stakeholders.
