Project Controls Manager

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Project Controls Manager to work within one of its Delivery Programmes, taking responsibility for all aspects of Project Controls. The role helps lead the establishment, development and maintenance of timely, accurate cost data and reports, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, estimates to complete and monthly reports on the Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP). The Project Controls function acts as a centre of excellence, the single source of delivery performance information, supporting the successful delivery of the SZC Project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day to day the team of controls functions within the Programme
• Liaise with the supply chain and the central client finance team to establish and agree annual budgets and report financial performance in line with shareholder requirements and PMO standards
• Support the Programme Director with progress reporting, including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and improvement opportunities
• Ensure weekly and monthly reports follow the PMO reporting calendar, covering progress, actuals, forecasts and explanations of variances
• Ensure project controls processes are applied consistently across the Delivery Programme
• Advise Project Managers and the supply chain on project controls requirements, policies, procedures and standards

Required profile

• Education to at least degree level, or equivalent training and experience
• Experience shaping and developing strategic change through management of large programmes
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on large, complex construction programmes in a regulated environment
• Substantial professional experience in one or more disciplines of Programme, Project or Commercial Management
• Detailed understanding of governance, strategic planning, strategic risk analysis, construction technology, delivery, site logistics and commercial and legal/contract issues
• Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills
