Lead Engineer - Building Services

About the role

Amentum, a global technical and engineering services partner, is recruiting a Lead Engineer - Building Services for a major project in Warrington. You will carry out engineering tasks during the initial planning and design phase of projects, working under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager and interacting with other disciplines, project support groups, subcontractors, vendors and client representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, prepare specifications, perform analyses and testing, issue reports and maintain related data
• Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups, and prepare and review drawings as required
• Advise the Lead Project Engineer on the status of assignments, including schedule, delays and adverse problems
• Ensure the quality, quantity and completeness of assigned engineering tasks, and plan and schedule engineering efforts
• Maintain timely technical reports and keep proper engineering files and records
• Integrate constructability concerns into engineering solutions and use computer software and applications for engineering assignments
• Keep technical knowledge up to date through continuous learning and additional training

Required profile

• Ideally degree qualified or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
• Previous experience in highly regulated industries and in delivering projects of over £1 million
• Experience managing high-value projects
• Proven knowledge of nuclear site decommissioning and waste management
• Eligible for UK SC security clearance

Required skills

• Familiarity with codes, permits and company cornerstone applications
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Knowledge of the work sequence and methods used to generate specifications for materials, equipment, systems and services
• Analytical and organisational skills, clear communication and flexibility in a changing environment
