About the role
The Anthro joint venture (Egis & VVB Engineering) is seeking a Telecoms Project Manager to lead the delivery of telecoms systems for the HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common, London. You will be responsible for integrating operational communications, station and trackside systems while ensuring safety, cost‑effectiveness and compliance with HS2 standards.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, design, procure, install, test and commission telecoms systems including CIS, CCTV, PA/VA, station and trackside communications.
- Manage interfaces with MEP, civil, signalling, IT, safety and security disciplines.
- Develop and maintain telecoms‑specific schedules, resource plans and budgets.
- Coordinate with HS2 Ltd, subcontractors and JV partners to align with programme objectives and technical specifications.
- Oversee assurance processes and ensure compliance with Network Rail, HS2 and other industry standards.
- Lead telecoms risk management and contribute to overall project risk assessments.
- Integrate Digital Railway and Smart Station principles as required.
- Produce and review technical documentation such as design submissions, method statements and ITPs.
- Support site works in accordance with CDM and other safety regulations.
- Report progress, issues and mitigations to senior leadership and act as the client liaison for telecoms queries.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Telecoms Project Manager on major rail or infrastructure projects (e.g., Crossrail, HS2, Network Rail).
- In‑depth knowledge of telecoms systems in the rail/transport sector.
- Familiarity with UK rail standards, Network Rail specifications and HS2 requirements.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and complex interfaces.
- Knowledge of safety and quality management systems (CDM, ISO 9001).
- Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards accreditation, experience with joint‑venture delivery models, understanding of BIM, systems engineering and digital delivery approaches.
