Property Health and Safety Business Partner

About the role

The Property Health and Safety Business Partner will support SGN’s property portfolio across Scotland, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation and internal standards. You will work closely with property, facilities and contract teams to create safe, compliant environments in depots, offices and logistics sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide health and safety guidance for property‑related activities, covering fire safety, water hygiene, electrical safety, asbestos management and environmental legislation.
• Review and, where appropriate, challenge contractor risk assessments, method statements, competence evidence and permits to work.
• Offer technical safety input for property maintenance, refurbishments and construction projects.
• Support CDM client duties by ensuring pre‑construction information is suitable and sufficient.
• Conduct property safety inspections, raise safety‑critical defects and drive timely corrective actions.
• Lead or support incident investigations and share learning to promote a Zero Harm culture.
• Promote awareness of environmental responsibilities in line with SGN’s sustainability goals.

Required profile

• Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing property and facilities safety compliance across multi‑site estates.
• Strong knowledge of UK property safety and environmental legislation.
• Confident communicator with effective stakeholder‑management skills.
