Property Move On Specialist – Housing Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Property Move On Specialist to support accommodation services for children’s contracts across Kent and London. The role is field‑based, combining property inspections, void management, compliance auditing and direct housing support for young people. You will work closely with Housing Officers, repairs teams and social services to ensure properties are ready for re‑occupation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections, audits and compliance checks across a portfolio of void properties.
• Manage inventory, secure and document belongings left in vacant homes.
• Produce accurate inventory reports and raise any property defects.
• Prepare properties for re‑occupation within agreed timescales.
• Support the move‑on process for young people in Children’s Services accommodation.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, escalating safeguarding, health & safety or serious property concerns.
• Assist with fire risk assessment scheduling and post‑inspection actions.
• Provide Housing Officer cover during periods of absence or increased demand.

Required profile

• Previous experience in housing, property services, tenancy support or supported accommodation.
• Proven ability to manage property inspections, voids or compliance processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Kent and London.
