Psychology Graduate – Mental Health Assistant (School Support)

About the role
We are seeking a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate to join a forward‑thinking primary school in Aylesbury as a Mental Health Assistant from September 2026. The role offers hands‑on experience supporting children with special educational needs and mental health challenges within a collaborative school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers, therapists and support staff in delivering tailored support to pupils with SEMH, ASD and behavioural difficulties.
- Help implement individual education plans and monitor student progress.
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support to promote emotional wellbeing and academic achievement.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture through proactive engagement with students and staff.
Required profile
- Degree (or pending degree) in Psychology or Criminology.
- Genuine interest in working with children with additional needs.
- Willingness to commit to a full‑time role for at least 12 months.
- Any prior experience with children (formal or informal) is advantageous.
