QC & Compliance Manager

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a QC & Compliance Manager in Scunthorpe to assist the Operations Manager in running the technical, quality and compliance functions efficiently, so as to improve customer satisfaction. The postholder also acts as the depot's Management Representative for BRC, VDA, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and develops the depot systems that ensure product quality and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide BRC support and lead the implementation of systems, acting as Management Representative during external and customer audits.
• Support the Operations Manager in managing the QMS and preparing for and passing external accreditation audits and regulatory visits (BRC, VDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Run the internal audit programme at both sites together with the depot internal auditors.
• Create the Scunthorpe depot HACCP risk assessments and act as HACCP team leader.
• Complete customer questionnaires for both sites' customers on time, and help prepare and complete customer, supplier and legal audits.
• Manage lab trials and new product development, and oversee the customer complaint system, including investigations, corrective actions, non-conforming products and customer liaison.
• Analyse raw materials and finished goods against agreed parameters, maintain records, and ensure calibration of laboratory and site equipment and adequate stock of consumables.
• Issue depot-generated Certificates of Analysis, liaise with suppliers on quality issues, and authorise new site-specific general chemicals through site risk assessment.
• Oversight of document control, training plans, internal audits for BRC, VDA and ISO, and final sign-off of outsourced activities under customer verification.

Required profile

• Level 3 HACCP for manufacturing.
• Certified Internal Auditor.
• Certified First Aider.
• Health and safety qualification desirable.
• Experience in chemical storage and distribution and laboratory analysis methods and techniques, and GLP.
