Qualified Social Worker – Edinburgh City Council Adult Service

About the role

Randstad Care is seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join Edinburgh City Council's Adult Service. This full‑time, hybrid position involves delivering person‑centred support, conducting assessments, and coordinating care plans for adults with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive assessments under the Social Care (Self‑directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 to determine service eligibility.
• Investigate concerns and act under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
• Design and implement care packages, including home care, equipment adaptations, or residential placements.
• Perform risk assessments for individuals with challenging behaviours, frailty or complex needs.
• Manage Self‑directed Support options, advising on budget use such as hiring a Personal Assistant versus council services.
• Collaborate with GPs, district nurses and occupational therapists to ensure integrated health and social care.

Required profile

• Current PVG SSSC registration.
• Qualified Social Work degree.
• Relevant experience working with children or adults in a social care setting.
