Qualified Social Worker – Looked After Children (Bolton)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join Bolton Council’s Looked‑After Children Team on a contract basis. You will support children, care leavers and homeless young people aged 16‑25, helping them progress towards independence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide statutory social work assessments and case planning for Looked‑After Children and care leavers.
- Manage complex needs, risks and challenging behaviours, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners, including MASH and IRO teams.
- Deliver regular team meetings and contribute to service development.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports in line with council requirements.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with experience working with Looked‑After Children or care leavers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage resistant young people.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, analyse and plan interventions for complex cases.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for disadvantaged young people.
