Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive – Home Ownership Disputes

About the role

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive to join our Home Ownership Disputes Team in Ipswich. The successful candidate will work exclusively on Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) matters and other equitable claims, supporting both individual and family clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of TOLATA and related disputes, from initial enquiry to resolution.
• Advise clients on orders for sale, quantification of beneficial shares and equitable accounting.
• Draft cohabitation agreements and other relevant legal documents.
• Supervise junior lawyers and trainees where appropriate.
• Interact sensitively with clients, responding to enquiries and providing clear updates.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive (CILEX) with a solid grounding in property law.
• Experience handling TOLATA or comparable equitable claims is essential.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent client‑facing skills and the capacity to work independently under supervision.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
• Proficiency in drafting cohabitation agreements and equitable accounting calculations.
• Case management and file handling within a dispute‑resolution environment.
