Quality Engineer – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a long‑standing precision‑engineered components manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their professional quality team in the Tewkesbury area. You will lead quality improvement programmes, support new product introductions and ensure the integrity of the HPE management system across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QA documentation such as FAIR reports, Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
• Apply quality tools (MAS/R&R, SPC, RCA, CAPA, APQP, PPAP) to investigate and resolve non‑conformances.
• Participate in NPI activities, ensuring quality requirements are defined and downstream documentation is produced.
• Conduct third‑party supplier audits and internal audits to verify compliance with the quality system.
• Collaborate with operations, shop‑floor, customers and suppliers to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T specifications.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve quality objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, RCA and First Article Inspection (AS9102).
• Ability to write clear problem definitions and corrective action plans.
• Experience with machining processes (CNC and conventional).
• Minimum HNC level or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
