Quantitative Market Risk Analyst – London

About the role

BTG Pactual London is seeking a Quantitative Market Risk Analyst with 1–2 years of experience to join its Risk Management team. The role sits close to the trading desk, combining quantitative analysis, programming, and a strong understanding of financial markets. You will have the opportunity to apply AI‑driven tools, such as Claude and other LLMs, to automate and enhance risk processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse market risk exposures and P&L across multiple trading desks.
• Develop, maintain and improve risk tools and daily controls.
• Collaborate directly with traders to understand trading activity and its risk implications.
• Apply statistical and quantitative methods to market data.
• Design and deploy AI‑based solutions (Claude/LLMs) to streamline risk workflows.
• Contribute to model validation, robustness checks and ongoing enhancements.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in market risk, trading support, quantitative analysis or a similar role.
• Strong quantitative foundation and ability to work in a fast‑paced front‑office environment.
• Detail‑oriented, intellectually rigorous and comfortable discussing both technical and market topics.

Required skills

• Python programming (pandas, NumPy, etc.).
• SQL or familiarity with data infrastructure.
• Experience or interest in AI/LLM tools such as Claude.
• Statistical analysis of financial market data.
