Quantity Surveyor – Capital Works (Hybrid)

About the role

Join BD Group’s Capital Works team as a Quantity Surveyor, delivering the borough’s own housing, corporate property and regeneration projects. This hybrid position requires you to work on‑site at The Cube at least three days a week while supporting the full commercial lifecycle of capital works.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cost plans, procure services and prepare tender documentation, including bills of quantities.
• Administer JCT and NEC contracts, monitor costs against budgets, validate payment applications and manage variations and compensation events.
• Produce cost reports for project boards and clients, and prepare final accounts and valuations.
• Support contractor selection and contribute to pricing schedules throughout the project.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor in construction, capital works, housing or regeneration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, cost plans, valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
• Experience administering JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.
• Local authority, social housing or public‑sector experience is desirable, as is RICS membership or progress towards it.
