Reception Class Teacher

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Reception Class Teacher for a Good‑rated primary school in West London. The role is a full‑time, temporary position covering the academic year, with the possibility of extension or a permanent offer based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver daily lessons for Reception pupils.
• Mark work, record progress and provide feedback to parents during evenings.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment in line with safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and fellow teachers to support school initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of Key Stage 1 teaching experience in the UK.
• Current safeguarding training (within the last year).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.

Required skills

• Effective classroom management.
• Strong communication with children, parents and staff.
• Ability to plan and assess early years curriculum.
