Record to Report (R2R) Accountant

About the role

The Record to Report (R2R) Accountant will ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for the Pennon Group. You will play a key part in reviewing the company’s financial position, maintaining robust documentation and supporting both monthly operations and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Complete monthly, half‑yearly and annual close processes for Pennon Group companies, delivering accurate financial statements.
• Control month‑end procedures for Pennon Group PLC holding company, including reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting principles, regulations and internal policies.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather reporting and analysis information.
• Identify and drive process‑improvement opportunities within the R2R function and wider finance function.
• Stay updated on changes to accounting standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive accounting experience, including transactional accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for extracting and documenting complex financial information.
• Motivated to work in a compliant, controlled environment and deliver detailed, accurate outputs within tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Office and IT skills.
• Sound knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent financial qualification.
