Recycling Administrator – Food Waste Collection Project

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Recycling Administrator to join our Food Waste Collection Project in Plymouth. The role is field‑based, acting as the public face of the service while also providing occasional office support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver customer service to residents and partners, handling street‑scene and waste issues.
- Engage with schools to promote litter collection and environmental initiatives.
- Liaise with community groups and plan events, ensuring health‑and‑safety compliance.
- Undertake enforcement actions in collaboration with other services.
- Oversee staff and volunteers at events, prepare risk assessments and ensure public safety.
Required profile
- Self‑starter with a proactive, results‑focused attitude.
- Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Passion for environmental issues and behaviour change.
- Ability to work both in the field and in an office setting.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
