Reflection Room Manager – Pastoral Support

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Reflection Room Manager to lead the pastoral provision for a vibrant 11‑16 secondary school in Walthamstow. The role ensures a calm, structured environment where pupils can reflect on behaviour, complete academic work and re‑integrate smoothly into mainstream lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the Reflection Room, maintaining a respectful learning atmosphere.
• Facilitate restorative conversations that help pupils understand and improve their behaviour.
• Ensure high‑quality academic tasks are completed during placements.
• Coordinate reintegration of pupils into regular classes and monitor ongoing progress.
• Collaborate closely with pastoral, SEND, safeguarding and teaching teams.
• Maintain accurate behaviour records, analyse trends and report to senior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with young people in a school or comparable setting.
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour positively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Highly organised with solid administrative skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Required skills

• Restorative behaviour management techniques.
• Accurate record‑keeping and data monitoring.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and SEND policies.
