About the role
Mountain Healthcare is seeking Registered Nurses and Paramedics to join its forensic custody team in Abingdon on a bank basis. You will work alongside police and criminal‑justice partners, providing autonomous clinical assessment, treatment and support to detainees in police custody.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct clinical and capacity assessments of detainees.
- Manage acute healthcare needs and emergencies, including mental health and substance‑misuse issues.
- Collect and document forensic evidence, such as injury assessments and evidential samples.
- Maintain accurate clinical and legal records and provide professional statements.
- Collaborate with police, NHS and partner agencies, including attending hospital procedures under the Road Traffic Act.
- Provide advice to custody teams and attend court when required.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse or Paramedic with at least 3 years post‑registration experience in an acute or urgent‑care setting.
- No prior forensic or custody experience required; training will be provided.
