Regulations Manager (UAS)

About the role

TEKEVER, an unmanned technology company based in Bristol, is looking for a Regulations Manager for its Defence Division's Safety and Regulations team. The postholder holds overall responsibility for the regulatory and governance framework behind the company's flying activity, civil and defence, and ensures the licences, authorisations and accreditations needed for its uncrewed air systems (UAS) to fly legally in the UK and elsewhere. The role requires a strong working command of SORA BVLOS regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the documents governing how TEKEVER flies (OSC, OA, CFAOS, SORA) and keep them aligned to business needs
• Author and maintain SORA submissions and Operational Safety Cases, and prepare variations, technical amendments and site-specific flying permissions
• Lead Operational Authorisation applications with National Aviation Authorities and represent TEKEVER with regulators such as the UK CAA, MAA, EASA, JARUS, JCAB and the US DoD
• Support accreditation under CFAOS, MAOS and DAOS schemes, and track standing against MAA Regulatory Publications
• Hold responsibility for Ofcom spectrum permissions, renewals and coverage at new sites
• Help run the Air Safety Management System (ASMS), contribute to hazard identification and risk assessment, and support flight trials
• Keep the business audit-ready, report on regulatory applications and compliance, and track changes in air legislation
• Help put the Emergency Response Plan into practice and act as the main point of contact for regulatory questions

Required profile

• Track record of preparing and submitting SORA assessments, including UAS Specific Category applications, or equivalent regulatory process
• Solid working knowledge of the UK UAS regulatory landscape and its policy
• Familiarity with BVLOS operations and their rules
• Ability to gather input from engineering, flight operations, flight test, safety and QA teams
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability, grounded in safety management principles
• Disciplined record-keeping, with documentation and audit trails that stand up to inspection
