Regulatory Legal Counsel – 12 Month Fixed-Term

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Legal Counsel to join Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide accurate and timely legal, regulatory and corporate governance advice across the business, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while maintaining a customer‑focused approach.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal point of contact for business units, delivering advice on regulatory and corporate matters.
• Review and interpret relevant laws and regulations, collaborating with stakeholders to implement changes.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, partner arrangements and supplier agreements in line with company policy.
• Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and support the Head of Legal on legal projects.
• Assist with governance activities, including policy drafting, committee documentation and minutes.
• Manage external legal counsel and coordinate risk escalation according to Santander UK risk framework.
• Support project initiatives by reviewing requirements and providing legal recommendations.

Required profile

• Available to start immediately with no notice period.
• Willing to work on‑site in Redhill at least three days per week (hybrid model).
