Relief Duty Officer – Temporary (£30/hr)

About the role
Marks Consulting Partners are seeking a Relief Duty Officer to support a local authority client in Sussex. This temporary role focuses on preventing homelessness and ensuring the council meets its statutory duties under the 1996 Housing Act.
Key responsibilities
- Work proactively with people at risk of homelessness to provide timely advice and assistance.
- Discharge the council's statutory duties for homeless persons in line with the 1996 Housing Act.
- Investigate formal homelessness applications thoroughly.
- Make complex legal decisions regarding the council's obligations to applicants.
Required profile
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Housing Options Officer.
- Previous experience with Home Connections/HOPE schemes.
- Strong working knowledge of homelessness law and policy.
