Remedial Technician - Water Hygiene

About the role

HSL Compliance, a UK compliance specialist working with local authorities, housing associations and businesses on water safety, fire safety and other compliance services, is looking for a Remedial Technician based in Edinburgh. The role suits someone who wants a hands-on job where every day is different, with full training and ongoing support provided even if there is no prior industry experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform remedial repairs to ensure water system compliance
• Travel to different sites each day; a company vehicle is provided after training
• Install, repair and maintain pipework, tanks and valves
• Carry out water sampling, temperature checks and system flushing
• Clean and descale showerheads and other fixtures
• Keep accurate records and liaise with clients on site
• Follow HSE's ACoP L8 and all health and safety protocols

Required profile

• A full UK driving licence (essential)
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Confidence to work independently once trained
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Proactive and enjoys solving problems
• Previous experience in water hygiene, plumbing or legionella control is beneficial
• Ability to follow processes and work safely; a DBS check may be required
