Mechanical Project Manager / Project Lead

About the role

A full-time Mechanical Project Manager / Project Lead position in Bridgwater, Somerset, working for main contractors on a large-scale industrial project. You will manage subcontractor works and make sure each package of work meets its deadlines. The project is the construction of a manufacturing facility for advanced battery technology for electric vehicles and energy storage, involving complex MEP installations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical projects from design through to installation, commissioning and handover.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, contractors, suppliers and site activities.
• Oversee mechanical designs, technical specifications and compliance with relevant standards.
• Monitor progress, risks, costs and quality.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Ensure health, safety and quality requirements are met, and support procurement, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building services, or NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds in a mechanical trade.
• Previous experience in management or supervision.
• Desirable: BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, CSCS manager level card, and SMSTS.
